I see a lot of confusion around titles like Founder, CEO, President, and COO.

Takes it from 0 to 1.
The visionary.
Obsessed with the product.
Innovation-focused.
Takes it from 1 to 10, or even 100.
Keeper of the vision.
Company-building focused.
Optimizing, scaling, and executing the broader strategy.
Manages day-to-day operations.
Ensures teams are aligned and executing.
Bridges the gap between vision and execution.
Runs the engine of the business.
Focuses on operational efficiency.
Makes sure everything runs smoothly at scale.
Each leadership role serves a distinct purpose in building a company.
Founders create, CEOs scale, presidents manage execution, and COOs optimize operations.
Understanding these differences helps you build the right team for each stage of growth.
In smaller organizations these roles often overlap, with one person wearing multiple hats, but the distinctions still matter as the company grows.
